Eurgen Jussel (1912 - 1997) was born in Feldkirch, Austria. Jussel is considered one of the great artistic interpreters of the 20th century in Vorarlbery. Jussel is a colourist who used colour to a high expressive value in his compositions. His paintings are passionate and pensive at the same time whether he paints landscapes or cityscapes, floral still lifes or figurative compositions. Jussel's work is known and appreciated beyond the boarders of his native Austria. The painting shows Feldkirch city in Austria, the hometown city of the artist. The building is the Schattenburg castle, museum and restaurant in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg. Schattenberg is 480 metres (1570ft) above sea level.The painting is signed in the bottom left in brown paint. The image size is 32 x 38cm, with pase-partout in a wooden and gilded frame.
