Rita Greig (1918 - 2011) was born in Norwich, Norfolk and trained as a designer in London after which she taught art. She lived for many years in South Devon with her artist husband, Donald Grieg. Greig worked mainly in oils, depicting landscapes, still life and interiors as well as figures at village shows and carnivals. Awarded the Medaille D'argent at the Paris Salon and is a member of the Royal West of England Academy, the New English Art Club and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. Greig has exhibited at the Royal Academy, Galerie George, NEAC Centenary Exhibition, Patterson Fine Arts, Alpine Gallery and Mall Galleries. She has painting in the public collections of The Royal West of England Permanent collections and the Chase Manhattan Bank Collection.This original still life oil painting is very bright and has start contrast of warm and cold tones. It is framed in a wooden frame and is excellent condition. It was a Gift Aided donation to FARA Earlsfield.
